Projected Changes to Monthly Expenses
A family of four in the Nieuw West district with a combined income under 45,000 euros would receive 75 euros each quarter, reducing their net utility outlay by that amount. Single occupants meeting the income limit would receive 40 euros per quarter under the same formula.
Policy analysts note that the offset applies only to electricity and gas accounts registered at Nieuw West postcodes and does not cover water or waste charges. The government projects the first payments to reach bank accounts by 15 February 2027 if the measure passes the council vote scheduled for October.
