Residents who drive or use bus routes on the selected corridors will encounter changed traffic patterns once crews mobilise. The plan lists specific segments on streets serving the industrial estate and the central market area, where temporary one-way restrictions are projected to add between five and twelve minutes to peak-hour trips during the construction window.
According to the council resolution, the program carries a total allocation of 4.8 million euros spread across fiscal years 2026 and 2027. The figure covers materials, contractor fees and traffic management measures, with no new local tax increase required under the current budget framework.
Phased Schedule and Next Actions
Contract bidding opens in August, with selections expected by late October. Initial resurfacing on two priority segments is scheduled to start in September and conclude before the December holiday period. Remaining sections are listed for spring 2027 completion.
