De Pijp Buurtteam Moves Tuesday Consultations Away from Gerard Doustraat
De Pijp residents seeking Buurtteam advice on forms benefits and wages will need to adjust to new schedules at Smaragdplein and other sites after Tuesday hours end at one location.
How we reported this
Buurtteam De Pijp will stop holding consultation hours on Tuesdays at Gerard Doustraat 133 starting July 1 2026. Wednesday and Thursday sessions will continue at that address or at Smaragdplein. The team will keep its Monday community consultation hour every week from 14:00 to 16:00 at Community Center De Pijp on Tweede van der Helststraat 66.
These adjustments affect access to local services that help residents with questions on forms benefits and wages. Social counselors run weekly hours at Smaragdplein 3-5 by appointment. Wijkcentrum De Pijp also offers spreekuren for elderly support and welfare services on Mondays Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 12:00.
Resident petitions on Gerard Douplein reconstruction
Neighborhood residents have launched two petitions and formed a working group to advise the municipality on new public art for the upcoming Gerard Douplein reconstruction. A new artwork is planned for 2027. The changes to consultation locations coincide with this planning process for the square.
The shifts in hours mean residents must check current locations when seeking support on local services or infrastructure matters. Monday sessions remain fixed at the community center while other days move between Gerard Doustraat 133 and Smaragdplein.
Next steps for service users
Residents can continue to use the remaining consultation slots at the listed addresses. The working group on public art will provide input to the municipality on the 2027 artwork as part of the square reconstruction.
Information on the updated schedules comes from Buurtteam De Pijp records and local community notices. Appointments for social counselor sessions remain available through the Smaragdplein location.
