Local households without cars will see no direct charge from the change. Families that rely on street parking for work vehicles or school runs will absorb the added expense in their monthly budgets. Small businesses operating delivery vans in the area will encounter a separate commercial permit category set at 950 euros, unchanged from last year.
Allocation of new revenue
Budget papers allocate the additional 864,000 euros expected from De Pijp permits to a dedicated public transport voucher scheme administered by the district office. The scheme provides 25-euro monthly credits to residents registered at addresses south of the Sarphatistraat. City finance statements indicate the credits will be distributed through existing OV-chipkaart accounts beginning in October.
Implementation requires permit holders to renew through the municipal online portal by 15 August to avoid a one-month lapse. District staff will send renewal notices by post to all current permit addresses in the first week of July. Residents who switch to the new public transport credits can cancel their parking permits without penalty until 30 September.
